Why KOERS
You only know the best loops once you've ridden them. Plotting a route takes time, and if you want to ride a workout you also have to work out where the hard parts fit. KOERS takes that work away: choose your distance or your time, and you get a loop that starts and ends at your front door.
How KOERS plans a loop
- Cycle junctions. The Dutch and Belgian junction network (knooppunten) comes from OpenStreetMap. Your phone finds a loop of the right length in it and lists every number.
- Free loop. Our own route planner (BRouter, with OpenStreetMap data) picks cycle paths or asphalt and, if you ask, avoids cobbles, busy town centres, climbs and lots of turns. Offline or outside the Netherlands and Belgium, Apple Maps plans the loop.
- Training. A workout fits the time you have. KOERS puts the hard blocks on quiet, straight stretches of your loop, just after a turn, and off cobbles or climbs.
- After the ride. KOERS fetches your ride from your bike computer, lays it onto your loop and scores every block. Your FTP and threshold heart rate follow what you actually ride.
As little about you as possible
KOERS has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your loops and rides live only on your own phone. Our server only calculates routes and keeps nothing about where you ride. The details are in the privacy policy.
